Welcome back to all Primary 5 children.
We are starting this term with a class novel study of ‘This Morning I Met a Whale.’ This book focuses on the issues of climate change and how we can take care of our planet. In writing, the children have started the term by writing diary entries. They will then be moving on to creating newspaper articles and their own scripts from some drama work.
Primary 5 have had great success throughout the year with their Beat That tests. These will continue to take place on a Friday afternoon and I hope everyone will keep working hard to achieve their best scores! We will also be exploring the topics of money and measure and extending our work on decimals.
We will continue our topic on Space this term. The children will be learning about distances in space, the size of planets and zero gravity.
PE continues with Mrs Begg on Wednesdays. In addition to this, the first 4 weeks of term will include a 45 minute gym session with students from RGU.
It is important that all children come to school with a water bottle so that they can access water throughout the day.
The Youth Games will be taking place in the Aberdeen Sports Village on 25th May for all Primary 5 pupils. More details will follow regarding this.
I hope we continue to have a great term!
